Shipping Coordinator Sunset West, a division of Hooker Furnishings Corporation, is currently recruiting a Shipping Coordinator. Sunset West specializes in luxury outdoor furniture for residential and hospitality markets. Hooker Furnishings, celebrating over a century in business, is a designer, marketer, and importer of case goods, leather, fabric-upholstered, and outdoor furniture. We are looking for a dependable individual with great attention to detail to join our warehouse team as a Shipping Coordinator. This candidate will collaborate with warehouse and production operations to maximize product shipments and reach shipping goals.

Position Responsibilities:

• Coordinate shipments of outbound and inbound freight, LTL and container.
• Responsible for the shipping and tagging of all freight, both retail and e-tail accounts.
• Prepare shipping documents, including bill of lading and packing slips. Scan and file documents as per company SOPs.
• Monitor and review shipping reports and resolve discrepancies.
• Schedule and maintain Will Call orders coordinating with the customer and Production schedule to ensure on time, as promised completion.
• Process "rush" orders ensuring shipping deadline is met.
• Schedule daily trailer swaps with current dispatch.
• Schedule container shipments.
• Maintain effective communication with internal departments, carriers, vendors, and co-workers to facilitate the smooth flow of materials and products.
• Maintain accurate inventory of shipping supplies ensuring adequate stock levels.
• Collaborate with Team Leads to ensure quality standards are upheld.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency enhancements within the shipping department.
• Mitigate and communicate any operational risks that may arise.
• All other tasks and projects as assigned by supervisor

Candidate Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of progressive experience in shipping outbound goods
• Proficiency in using inventory management software and MS Office applications.
• Comfortable with web-based customer portal navigation
• Enjoy fast paced and independent work.
• Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Shift: Monday Friday 7:30am-4:00pm Pay Range: $ 23-25 per hour.
