In this contract role as a Special Education Teacher, you will play a key part in supporting students’ academic and developmental growth in a vibrant middle school environment near Hilton Head Island, SC. This position offers a unique opportunity to serve as a Push-In Resource Teacher, collaborating directly with general education teachers by co-teaching in at least two different core subject areas. You will have a manageable caseload of approximately 15-20 students, ensuring that you can provide meaningful, individualized support to each learner.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (state-specific and/or eligible)
• Previous experience in a middle school or similar educational setting preferred
• Strong background in co-teaching models and inclusive education best practices
• Ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and families to foster a positive learning environment
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Commitment to meeting the diverse needs of learners through creative interventions

Responsibilities:

• Push into general education classrooms to deliver resource support and co-teach lessons in multiple subject areas
• Adapt and modify instruction to meet students’ IEP goals and classroom expectations
• Collaborate closely with grade-level teachers, aides, and support staff to ensure seamless instructional delivery
• Monitor, document, and report student progress; participate in IEP meetings and parent conferences as needed
• Maintain a supportive, inclusive, and structured classroom atmosphere for all students
• On-site participation required, 37.5 hours per week during contracted period
