Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2+ years of experience and TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Newly opened PCU supporting MS/Tele, PCU, and critical care patient populations, including anticipated ICU patients
• Float to MS/Tele, PCU, or critical care areas as needed during low census
• MS/Tele ratios of 6:1; Critical Care ratios of 2:1, with 1:4 general patient ratio experience preferred
• Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and TNCC/TCAR (may be obtained within 30 days of start if not already held)
• Cerner charting experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilated patients, tracheostomy care, and non-invasive airway management preferred
• Neuro/psych skills such as EVD, lumbar drain, and post-TPA care preferred
• Cardiovascular skills including pacemaker management, TAVR, and post-cardiac surgery care preferred

Additional Information

• Provide high-level PCU or ICU-level nursing care in a fast-paced progressive care setting
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, and a positive result results in automatic cancellation
• Candidates should avoid substances that could result in a positive drug screen, including CBD products, prior to arrival
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Two professional references from supervisors within the last 3 years required for consideration
• Certifications must be current and attached to the candidate profile for consideration
