Customer Service Representative – Remote/Hybrid

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Pay: $17.00/hour

Contract-to-Hire-$18.75

Remote with occasional onsite requirements

Location Requirements

Candidates must live within approximately a 45-minute commute of one of the following locations:

Pittsburgh, PA

Camp Hill, PA

Wilmington, DE

Parkersburg, WV

This position will primarily work from home; however, employees may be required to report onsite 1–2 times per quarter or when experiencing equipment or system issues. Reliable transportation is required.

Position Overview

We are seeking Customer Service Representatives to support a busy healthcare customer service operation. This is a high-volume inbound call center position assisting both members and healthcare providers with questions regarding claims, eligibility, benefits, and other service-related needs.

The ideal candidate is professional, empathetic, comfortable navigating multiple computer systems, and able to manage conversations effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle high-volume inbound calls from members and healthcare providers

• Assist with claims status, eligibility, benefits, and general inquiries

• Navigate multiple computer systems while speaking with callers

• Document calls accurately and efficiently

• Provide professional, empathetic customer service

• Maintain control of calls while resolving customer concerns

• Adapt quickly to changing procedures and information

• Meet established attendance, quality, and performance expectations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required

• Previous customer service experience required

• Call center experience strongly preferred

• Healthcare or health insurance call center experience is a plus

• Strong computer and data-entry skills

• Excellent communication and listening skills

• Ability to demonstrate empathy while maintaining professionalism

• Bilingual Spanish candidates are encouraged to apply

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

• Must have reliable transportation

• Must have high-speed home internet with at least 100 Mbps download and 100 Mbps upload

Schedule

Candidates must be available to work any shift between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, including the potential 11:30 AM–8:00 PM shift.

Training and Attendance

Training is intensive, and attendance during the first three months is critical. Candidates should not have planned vacations or anticipated time off during this period.

Training is conducted remotely with cameras on, and employees are expected to be active participants throughout the class. Working from home cannot be used as a substitute for childcare or elder care.

Assessment Requirement

Candidates must complete a pre-employment Customer Service assessment before being considered.

Minimum required results:

• Overall assessment score: 85% or higher

• Typing speed: 30+ WPM

Bonuses and Conversion Opportunity

Employees who successfully complete training and meet attendance and performance requirements may be eligible for a $250 training bonus.

Employees who successfully complete their first six months and remain in good standing may be eligible for a $500 retention bonus and consideration for conversion to a full-time position, based on performance and business needs.
