Accounting Specialist

Please note: This opportunity is a direct hire placement. A growing organization based in South Orlando is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist. This is a full-time, on-site role supporting a multi-entity environment, with a starting salary of $60,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package and annual evaluations. Core Responsibilities: Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable, both manual and automated, including 2-way matching, purchase order validation, and approval workflows Prepare and issue manual checks and process ACH payments Verify invoices against purchase orders, contracts, and proof of work completion prior to payment Perform Accounts Receivable functions, including customer invoicing, progress billing, and monitoring AR aging Export AP files and maintain an organized digital filing system using Adobe and internal workflows Prepare journal entries and support general ledger maintenance Manage payroll-related journal entries and allocations by job or location, and prepare payroll reports for review by the VP of Accounting or Assistant Controller Assist with special projects and process improvements as the business continues to scale Take on additional responsibilities as familiarity with the company and industry deepens Requirements: Minimum of 3 plus years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience Bilingual English and Spanish preferred, but not a must Proficiency in Excel at a basic to intermediate level Experience with Sage, Oracle, or comparable accounting systems preferred Proficiency in Excel at a basic to intermediate level Reporting Structure and Culture: This position reports directly to a supportive accounting leader who values accuracy, ownership, and professional growth.
