Step into an essential support role working directly with K-4th grade students as a Bilingual Instructional Assistant. This full-time contract opportunity runs from 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM, offering the chance to make a difference both in the classroom setting and through individualized support. You’ll assist teachers and encourage positive student growth by providing behavioral and academic guidance.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include working closely with students, some requiring one-on-one help, and lending support in a range of classroom activities. You will also assist with essential daily living tasks such as toileting and meal time, while helping to implement and track progress on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Qualifications and Credentials:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required
- At least 2 years of experience in Special Education or behavioral support, preferably within elementary-aged populations
- Experience assisting with toileting and meal routines in a school setting
- Ability to implement and document adherence to student IEPs
- Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred to support bilingual learners
- Strong communication skills, patience, and an encouraging attitude
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with teachers to deliver both small group and individualized support
- Provide one-on-one academic and behavioral assistance to students
- Facilitate daily routines such as toileting and meals when needed
- Maintain accurate IEP documentation and follow behavior intervention plans
- Foster a supportive, inclusive environment for diverse learners
