Assistant Professor I - Physical Therapist

Job Summary Assistant Professor I – Physical Therapy responsible for delivering high‑quality instruction and student assessment in the Physical Therapist Assistant program; designing curriculum and maintaining accreditation status; organizing educational experiences; recruitment, retention, placement plan; college planning and quality improvement processes. Key Responsibilities Instruct lecture, laboratory, and clinical courses using contemporary teaching methods. Collaborate with faculty and staff in Health Science programs and healthcare delivery systems. Evaluate student outcomes and maintain accurate records. Develop and update curriculum to meet workplace needs. Support student success through advising and assistance. Participate in recruitment, retention, completion, and placement activities. Lead the Physical Therapist Assistant Advisory Committee. Complete reports and maintain accreditation criteria. Maintain program equipment and supplies. Recruit, orient, and mentor adjunct faculty. Engage in professional development and faculty meetings, committees, and service. Adhere to college regulations and deadlines. Perform additional duties assigned. Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills Master’s degree in Physical Therapy or related health area and licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant; Florida licensure as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant. Minimum five years credentialed professional experience in Physical Therapy. Teaching experience in a post‑secondary accredited Physical Therapist Assistant or Physical Therapy program preferred. Knowledge of contemporary PT‑assistant practice, service‑learning, quality assurance, and CAPTE accreditation standards. Knowledge of contemporary curriculum content for PT‑assistant education. Administrative experience in academic governance, fiscal management, and human resources desired. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet‑based learning platforms. All instructors must meet credentialing requirements for SACS. Physical Demands Requires ability to sit, stand, and present lectures; walk; bend; lift up to 25 pounds; operate office equipment. Compensation & Benefits Full‑time faculty, fixed‑term, pay rate $67,936.00.
