Senior Staff, HR Business Partner - BioInsight (San Diego / Hybrid)

Illumina seeks an experienced Senior Staff HR Business Partner to support the BioInsight organization in San Diego. This individual contributor role requires partnering with senior leaders to develop organization and talent strategies, serving as a trusted advisor on organizational effectiveness, and leveraging AI tools to enhance HR impact.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders to align business strategy with organizational, workforce and talent strategies
• Advise leadership teams on organizational effectiveness, talent development, culture, and workforce implications of business decisions
• Design organizations and operating models; support team effectiveness and organizational change initiatives
• Identify organizational capabilities and skills requirements needed to support current and future business priorities
• Build talent pipelines through succession planning, talent reviews, leadership development, and staffing decisions

Requirements

• Minimum 12 years related HR experience with Bachelor's degree, or 8 years with Master's, or PhD with 5 years
• Success partnering with senior leaders in complex organizations; experience in life sciences, technical, or software environments preferred
• Strong business acumen and ability to translate strategy into workforce and organizational solutions
• Demonstrated expertise in organization design, talent management, succession planning, and change management
• Proven consulting and influencing skills with ability to challenge senior leaders independently
• Experience using workforce data and analytics to generate insights and inform decisions
• Applied experience with AI tools and automation in HR environments; willingness to experiment with AI-enabled workflows
