HR/Accounting Associate

We are searching for a highly organized, detail oriented HR / Accounting Associate to handle typical HR functions of on-boarding, payroll processing, maintaining employee certifications, and also handle truck fleet compliance records, licenses, taxes, and company fleet insurances. The ideal candidate has a foundation in Human Resources, experience with trucking fleets, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and flexibility to handle last-minute tasks.

Responsibilities:

·         Manage employee and independent contractors on-boarding

·         Maintain accurate digital and physical employee records

·         Timely processing of payroll, government reports, and vehicle registration renewals

·         Maintain internal rosters and lists

·         Monitor expirations and handle renewals of employee & independent contractor licenses, physicals, vehicle licenses, and certifications

·         Assist employees with and maintain accuracy of benefit and retirement enrollments

·         Support upper management with correspondence and other tasks

·         Manage electronic & physical communications with employees

·         Process vendor invoices related to drug screening & DOT compliance

·         Maintain employee security clearances and expiring certifications

·         Respond appropriately and timely to internal and external requests

·         Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations

·         Other tasks as requested by management

Qualifications:

·         2-5 years experience in a Human Resources role with payroll processing experience

·         Experience in the transportation industry - preferred

·         Experience with Microsoft excel spreadsheets and Adobe Acrobat

·         Ability to stay focused while multi-tasking and meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy and efficiency

·         Discretion and confidentiality a must with employee and company information

·         Courteous, professional manner with all levels within the organization

·         Computer literacy, proficient communication skills, Excel & Word

·         Assist with maintaining a positive workplace culture

Preferred Skills:

·         Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

·         Familiarity with worker’s comp and other insurances
