Job Title: Assembler

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled assembler to set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, mills, boring machines, and grinders to machine metallic and non-metallic pieces. You will be responsible for trimming, drilling, routing, lining up, and assembling materials, as well as working with forming machines and presses.

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down production tools and production aids.
• Use gauges, scales, calipers, and other measuring equipment to check materials and follow work orders, set up cards, and other instructions for work processes.
• Perform daily maintenance on machines, including maintaining fluid levels, emptying chips, and wiping down machines to remove coolant, dust, and debris.
• Check and monitor the parts that are being run, deburr and blend all machined parts.
• Manually move large sheet metal pieces onto the shearing table and operate machines to cut and stage pieces.
• Operate ovens for heat treatment, rack products, and log heat treat data in the necessary format.
• Move raw materials onto machines and operate them to create slats for airplanes.
• Work as part of a team to load machines with parts weighing 50 lbs or more.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or high school equivalency.
• 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read basic dimensions and tolerances of blueprints.
• Math skills to perform basic calculations.
• Ability to read measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
• Capability to lift 50 lbs consistently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Must be eligible to work in the U.S without sponsorship
• Knowledge of the aerospace industry preferred.
• Experience in moving, staging, and loading raw materials for production is highly preferred.
• Construction labor experience is a plus.
• Trade school education in machining practices would be preferred.

Work Environment

The role involves working in a non-climate-controlled environment where cutting metals can be dirty and very hot during the summer months. Personal protective equipment, including steel-toed boots and eye/ear protection, is required. The position requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods. There are 12 work centers and three teams, each with a lead. Employees rotate every three months to different work areas to prevent burnout. There are three remaining openings, with two positions available at the 94 location from Monday to Thursday, 6 AM to 4:30 PM, and one second shift opening from 4 PM to 2:30 AM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Charles, MO.

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Saint Charles,MO.
