Director, Regulatory Affairs

Abbott seeks a Director of Regulatory Affairs to lead regulatory policy, cross-business initiatives, and strategic compliance efforts. This role influences changing regulations through agency engagement, trade association participation, and internal stakeholder collaboration across the global healthcare company.

Responsibilities

• Gather, assess, and disseminate regulatory information and emerging issues to management
• Lead cross-business regulatory council and committees to execute strategic objectives
• Develop and submit Abbott positions on regulatory proposals to agencies and trade associations
• Advise management and stakeholders on regulatory compliance and risk-benefit strategies
• Mentor regulatory professionals and serve as subject matter expert resource organization-wide

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 7-10 years experience in regulated industries (medical device, pharmaceutical, nutritional)
• Knowledge of regulatory agency guidance and rule development processes
• Ability to negotiate with regulatory agencies internally and externally
• Strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Effective verbal and written communication across diverse audiences
• Experience writing and editing regulatory documents
