Journeyman Sheet Metal Installer
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Sheet Metal Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience installing HVAC ductwork and commercial architectural sheet metal and takes pride in quality workmanship, job-site safety, and completing projects efficiently.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a commercial sheet metal installer .
- Strong experience with HVAC ductwork installation and commercial architectural sheet metal .
- Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency with common sheet metal hand and power tools.
- Ability to accurately measure, cut, fit, and install sheet metal components.
- Knowledge of commercial construction practices and job-site safety.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a crew.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Ability to work from ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and in varying job-site conditions.
- Physical ability to lift materials, work overhead, and perform demanding construction tasks.
Responsibilities
- Install commercial HVAC ductwork, fittings, dampers, grilles, and related components.
- Install commercial architectural sheet metal systems according to project plans and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and installation plans.
- Measure, lay out, fit, and secure sheet metal and ductwork accurately.
- Use hand tools, power tools, lifts, and other equipment safely and effectively.
- Work with other trades and project personnel to coordinate installations.
- Inspect completed work to ensure proper fit, appearance, and quality.
- Follow OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and job-site procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Identify and communicate installation issues or material needs to supervisors.
- Complete work according to project schedules and quality standards.
