GENERAL SALES MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee daily operations of the dealership sales department
- Manage new and used car sales teams and department managers
- Drive sales volume, gross profit, and overall dealership performance
- Monitor KPIs including units sold, gross per unit, closing ratios, and CSI
- Desk deals, structure transactions, and assist in closing sales
- Manage inventory, pricing, and merchandising strategies
- Train, coach, and develop sales managers and consultants
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
GENERAL SALES MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience as an automotive general sales manager or senior sales manager
- Proven track record of driving dealership sales and profitability
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Experience desking deals and managing high-volume sales operations
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
GENERAL SALES MANAGER SKILLS
Strong leadership and sales management skills in automotive dealership operations, including team leadership, performance management, and revenue growth. Experience driving sales volume, increasing gross profit, and managing inventory and pricing strategies.
Knowledge of dealership KPIs, CRM systems, desking deals, and customer satisfaction (CSI). Ability to lead high-performing teams, improve closing ratios, and maximize dealership profitability.
