Job Title: ICU Float Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night and Day rotation Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 4 years in ICU License: California RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Charge experience preferred - Travel experience required Description: ICU Float position available in a multi-campus environment. The role involves floating between various ICU campuses as needed. Shift times are 07:00 - 19:30 and 19:00 - 07:30. No on-call duty is required, but weekend rotation is necessary. Travelers will be notified 2 hours prior to their shift about the assigned campus. Employees may float to step-down units and emergency departments as needed. The ICU Float Nurse will manage a diverse range of critical patients. Specialty skills in areas such as ventilator management, central line care, and IV sedation are essential. Nurses must demonstrate proficiency in interpreting arterial blood gases and managing complex medical conditions. Candidates must work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient care. Strong communication and organizational skills are necessary for this role. Adherence to infection prevention protocols is critical. Candidates should be prepared for a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
