This is a benefited, full time (72 hours every 2 weeks) position working 12-hr day shifts from 8am-8:30pm on varied days each week. Weekends and holidays are required. Located at Scripps Clinic - Rancho Bernardo.

What you'll do:

• Providing assistance with splinting, EKGs, POC, patient transport and patient care.
• Facilitating patient throughput and flow, ensuring timely turnover of rooms, quality measures and increased patient safety and satisfaction.
• Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
• Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practice
• Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
• Collecting patient data in person and by phone
• Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
• Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
• Scheduling of appointments and procedures
• Complete and accurate message taking
• Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
• Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman Required Certification/Registration: BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA) Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: One year of experience as a MA in an outpatient setting Acute care experience
