Job Duties Conduct tests and evaluations to understand the mental health of inmates by reviewing their records and speaking with them. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team—including doctors, nurses, and other experts—to share information about inmates' mental health issues, ensuring coordinated treatment. Develop and adjust treatment plans for inmates based on their individual needs and progress. Regularly monitor inmates in special areas to assess their adjustment and identify necessary mental health support. Apply counseling methods to deliver effective treatments and activities for inmates. Provide mental health evaluations, counseling, and conflict‑prevention techniques, especially for inmates in crisis. Communicate with professionals—such as doctors, nurses, and security staff—to understand factors contributing to increased problems or changes in inmates' mental health. Qualifications Must hold a valid license to practice in Oklahoma or be eligible to obtain one.
