Role Description This is a remote, part-time role with the potential to become full-time for a Limited Permit Therapist (MHC-LP) at East River Counseling, open to candidates based anywhere in New York State. The Limited Permit Therapist will provide individual and/or couples therapy for 15–25 clients per week under supervision. Core responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and completing all clinical documentation in a timely and compliant manner. Therapists will also participate in weekly supervision and team case consultation, engage in ongoing professional development and advanced training opportunities, and collaborate with a supportive, multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care. Qualifications Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field Hold or be eligible for a Limited Permit (MHC-LP) in New York State Strong skills in individual and/or couples therapy Experience conducting assessments and developing treatment plans Proficiency in maintaining timely and accurate clinical records Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with other clinicians and supervisors Commitment to ongoing professional development, supervision, and cultural humility Passion for therapy, learning, and personal growth, and excitement to join a modern practice built on sustainability, flexibility, and purpose Preferred Qualifications (a plus, not required) Specialty or lived experience working with the LGBTQ+ community Bilingual or multilingual EMDR training (completed or in progress, EMDRIA certified basic training not required) If you have any of the above, please highlight it in your cover letter.
