Business Analyst

Business Analyst ContractLocation: Tallahassee, Florida (5 days, onsite)We are seeking a Business Analyst to support requirements gathering, business process analysis, process modeling, and documentation across enterprise application and modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience with gap analysis, translating business requirements into technical specifications, SDLC, testing/QA, and collaborating with technical and functional teams to drive process improvement and system enhancements.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related fieldMinimum 5 years of experience in business process analysis and requirements documentation, including independently facilitating sessions with executives, stakeholders, and subject matter expertsStrong experience with requirements gathering, as-is/to-be analysis, gap analysis, process modeling, business cases, and workflow documentationProficiency with Microsoft Visio for process mapping and modelingAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and TeamsExperience translating business requirements into technical specifications, use cases, business rules, and other functional/technical documentationKnowledge of data migration, testing/quality assurance methodologies, and change and release managementStrong understanding of the SDLC, IT infrastructure, and application development practicesExcellent facilitation, stakeholder management, written communication, and presentation skillsKnowledge of State of Florida IT standards and governance, including Rules 60GG-1 through 60GG-5 and PMBOK principles, is preferredExperience with Azure DevOps for managing requirements and backlogs and/or Power BI is preferredResponsibilities:Analyze and document business processes, system workflows, dependencies, and cross-functional interactions across the organization's environmentGather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements for application, infrastructure, modernization, remediation, and migration initiativesPartner with technical and functional teams to develop technical specifications, use cases, business rules, process models, context diagrams, and other analysis artifactsDocument current-state and future-state processes, perform gap analyses, and identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencySupport business process redesign, modernization, remediation, migration, and legacy system sunset initiativesPlan, prepare, and support functional, regression, data validation, integration, load, and performance testingAnalyze technical and business challenges and provide solution recommendations aligned with future-state architecture, modernization objectives, and business needsDevelop business cases, feasibility studies, performance measures, and supporting analysis for proposed technology and process improvementsFacilitate workshops, requirements sessions, and stakeholder meetings with executives, business units, subject matter experts, security teams, and technology teamsAnalyze complex information from multiple sources and prepare clear, executive-ready documentation and presentations summarizing value, risk, feasibility, alignment, and modernization considerationsGenius Road, LLC is proud to be a Certified Women's Business Enterprise, an Equal Opportunity Employer and values diversity.
