Job Description
Exciting Opportunity for ICU Registered Nurses!

Job Description:

- Shift: 12 Hour Nights (0630-1900, 1830-0700)
- Department: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Patient Ratios: Nurse:Patient Ratios of 1:2; may vary with downgrades (1:5 medical patients, 1:4 PCU patients)
- Common Diagnoses:
- COPD
- Pneumonia
- CVA
- TIA
- DKA
- Sepsis
- CHF
- STEMI
- Neuro
- Unit Notes:
- Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation (OPEN BOOK)
- Must achieve 90% to pass or face contract termination
- Certification Requirements: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Responsibilities:
- Required to titrate drips (e.g., Vasopressors, Insulin, Heparin)
- Read and interpret telemetry strips
- Work alongside 24/7 on-site Hospitalist or Intensivist
- Support Staff:
- Patient Care Techs available (1 tech up to 20 patients, 2 techs up to 24)
- E-ICU staffed with nurse and APRN 24/7
- Equipment:
- Familiarity with Vents, BiPAPs, High Flow required (troubleshooting only)
- Scheduling:
- Done by unit scheduler
- Weekend rotations: Every other weekend
- Dress Code:
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- Orientation:
- First week system orientation followed by 1-2 unit-specific shifts
- Additional Information:
- Radius Rule: 50 miles
- Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with this healthcare network
- Up to 7 days RTO approved upfront; no additional RTO will be accepted
- Cancellation Policy: Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
