Scheduling Specialist

Compensation: $25-$30 per hour

Job Type: Full-Time, Monday-Friday.

New York State Solar is seeking an energetic, organized, and customer-focused Scheduling Specialist to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong communication skills, and is comfortable working with a wide variety of clientele.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional customer service experience, strong phone etiquette, and the ability to multitask while remaining calm and professional under pressure. We are looking for someone who is quick-witted, computer savvy, highly organized, and flexible with availability to support midday through evening scheduling coverage.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate scheduling for solar installations, roofing installs, energy efficiency projects, and service maintenance appointments.

• Provide excellent customer service while communicating with clients, homeowners, contractors, and internal teams.

• Handle high call volumes professionally with strong phone rapport and communication skills.

• Work closely with project managers, installers, and operations teams to ensure schedules are accurate and timelines are met.

• Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate project updates, customer requests, or operational changes.

• Identify scheduling conflicts or delays and proactively resolve issues in a timely manner.

• Maintain accurate scheduling records, customer information, and project updates.

• Multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while remaining organized and detail-oriented.

• Support customers and team members with professionalism and a positive attitude, even under pressure.

Qualifications:

• Strong customer service experience required.

• Experience working with a variety of clientele and personalities.

• Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal communication skills.

• Energetic, lively, and professional demeanor.

• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work well under pressure and adapt quickly to changing priorities.

• Flexible availability to support midday through evening hours as needed.

• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Google Suite) and Microsoft Office.

• Computer-savvy with the ability to quickly learn scheduling systems and software.

• Previous scheduling, administrative, or customer service experience preferred.
