Accounting Assistant

BEI Construction is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support our accounting team. This entry-level role will primarily support the accounts receivable function, including invoicing, payment posting, account reconciliation, and customer follow-up, while also being cross-trained in accounts payable to provide backup support as needed. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 0–2 years of experience who is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to build a career in accounting. This position is based in Alameda, CA and reports to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor. Responsibilities Support the accounts receivable function with invoicing, payment posting, account reconciliation, and customer follow-up. Assist with maintaining accurate financial records and resolving routine billing discrepancies. Cross-train in accounts payable and provide support with invoice entry, coding, and payment processing as needed. Perform general administrative and accounting support tasks while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications 0–2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience preferred. Associate degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems. Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
