Arizona Burn Foundation (ABF) improves the quality of life for burn survivors and their families, while promoting burn prevention advocacy and education. We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and passionate Burn Care Support Services Coordinator to join our dynamic team. Position Overview The Burn Care Support Services Coordinator will report to the Director of Client Care Services and work in collaboration with the Client Care Services team. This position is primarily focused on providing direct support, advocacy, crisis response, and continuity of care for burn survivors and their families throughout their burn journey, with a strong emphasis on hospital and clinic support services in partnership with Arizona Burn Center at Valleywise Health. The coordinator will serve as a key point of contact for clients while they are hospitalized and after they discharge home or to rehab. This position will also assist in the planning and coordination of therapeutic recovery camps, social gatherings, and community events throughout Arizona. Key Roles and Responsibilities Manage a fluctuating caseload of burn survivors and their family members, serving as the primary support person throughout the recovery journey. Provide consistent and compassionate emotional support through regular hospital and clinic visits, phone calls, or virtual meetings. Collaborate with Arizona Burn Center staff, including social workers, surgeons, nurses, and rehabilitation teams, to coordinate comprehensive care and support services for burn survivors and families. Regularly participate in weekly interdisciplinary rounds meetings and other staffing meetings at the hospital, as needed. Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule shared among Client Care Services team members to provide limited support services to hospitalized clients and families during assigned weekends, generally averaging one weekend per month. Responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing one annual therapeutic camp for burn survivors, including all programming, logistics coordination, survivor and volunteer communication, and on‑site client support. Support planning efforts for client‑centered social events including holiday parties, family picnics, and burn survivor specific events. Duties include assisting with logistics, vendor and volunteer coordination, client outreach, and event‑day operations. Attend and actively participate in Arizona Burn Foundation’s week‑long summer camp, Camp Courage, providing support to campers, volunteers, and program operations as assigned. Facilitate school reentry presentations for pediatric burn survivors returning to school, supporting the child’s social, emotional, and academic adjustment following hospitalization. This includes collaborating with families, school personnel, and medical teams to ensure a smooth transition back to the classroom, providing education and awareness to peers and staff. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Master’s degree in social work preferred; candidates with a master’s or bachelor’s degree in counseling, public health, human services, or psychology, plus relevant experience, will also be considered. Relevant experience includes case management, hospital case management, behavioral health case management, housing case management, care coordination, social services, healthcare, patient advocacy, or related fields. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Strong customer service, problem‑solving, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities. Demonstrated ability to manage stressful situations tactfully, resolve conflicts, maintain confidentiality, and follow organizational protocols with professionalism. Experience serving diverse populations in trauma‐informed care settings, with knowledge of Phoenix‑area resources for families in need. Experience with case management, referral services, financial assistance procedures, and maintaining accurate client databases and documentation. Ability to work independently and take initiative, with experience coordinating, camps, retreats, and nonprofit program planning, implementation, and evaluation. Other Requirements Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required. This role requires frequent travel throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area and occasional travel across Arizona to support clients, families, healthcare partners, events, camps, fundraising activities, and other mission‑driven initiatives, with responsibilities spanning both office and field‑based work. Occasional air travel may be required for out‑of‑state conferences or events. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally lift or move equipment as needed; reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Flexibility working evenings and weekends for events is required. This is a full‑time, exempt position with a salary range of $59,000 - $65,000 annually. ABF provides comprehensive health benefits and retirement package.
