Office Manager

Columbus, Ohio | Full-Time Help Us Build Something Great Blue Kangaroo Packoutz of Columbus is not your typical restoration company. We specialize in contents restoration following fire, water, mold, and other property losses. Every day we help families recover after some of the most difficult moments of their lives. About the Role This is a leadership position responsible for managing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the business. You’ll work directly with the General Manager to improve systems, support our field teams, strengthen relationships with insurance carriers and referral partners, and help scale the company for long-term growth. We're looking for someone who thinks like a business owner—not someone who waits to be told what to do. If you constantly ask yourself, "How can we make this better?" you'll fit right in. Responsibilities Insurance & Estimating Prepare and review estimates for contents restoration projects Correspond with insurance adjusters regarding scope of work Negotiate estimates and resolve pricing differences Submit documentation and invoices to carriers Track claim progress through payment Accounting & Collections Manage Accounts Receivable Manage Accounts Payable Follow up on unpaid invoices Coordinate collections with homeowners, insurance companies, and commercial clients Monitor aging reports and improve cash flow Operations Coordinate scheduling between office staff, field crews, warehouse, and vendors Support project workflow from initial loss through final billing Maintain accurate job documentation Improve office systems and operational efficiency Develop and implement standard operating procedures Human Resources Develop and improve company policies Assist with recruiting and interviewing Coordinate onboarding of new employees Build training systems and accountability processes Help create a workplace where employees enjoy coming to work Business Development Support Communicate with referral partners including mitigation contractors, insurance professionals, plumbers, and restoration companies Help strengthen existing relationships while creating new opportunities Look for ways to improve customer experience and company growth What We're Looking For We're less concerned about having the perfect resume and more interested in finding the right person. You might be an excellent fit if you: Have experience in restoration, construction, insurance, property claims, or project management Have experience with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Are comfortable having difficult but professional conversations regarding payment and collections Can negotiate confidently with insurance adjusters Are highly organized and thrive in a fast-paced environment Take ownership rather than waiting for direction Continuously look for ways to improve processes Communicate professionally both in writing and over the phone Can manage multiple priorities without becoming overwhelmed Preferred Experience Xactimate PSA, DASH, Encircle, iCat, or similar restoration software Insurance claims processing Microsoft Office and Google Workspace Restoration, construction, logistics, or service industry operations Our Culture We're building more than a company—we're building a team.
