Power Electronics Engineer – High Power AC/DC (kW–MW), PhD On-site Fremont Salary: $175,000 - $225,000 per year Location: Fremont, CA Relocation Assistance: Not Available Our client is a leading developer of power solutions for data centers that support emerging AI technologies. They need to quickly identify and attract top-level talent to serve as a Power Electronics Engineer. This position requires a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Power Conversion/Drives, or a related field. Candidates with a Master’s degree and 3+ years of relevant experience will also be considered. Advanced development and platform-level R&D for high-power AC/DC power conversion systems spanning single-phase and three-phase solutions from several kW up to MW-class . Note: This role focuses on R&D / prototype / reference design work and does not involve production ramp, manufacturing support, or sustaining engineering. Responsibilities: Prototype & Advanced Development (no production ownership) Customer Engagement & Technical Support (U.S. customers) Requirements Strong fundamentals in power electronics with proven hands‑on lab capability. Experience designing, testing, or debugging high-power converters (AC/DC and/or DC/DC, and/or inverter/rectifier experience acceptable).
