System Engineer

Seeking an early career Systems Engineer to support the development and implementation of Systems Engineering on submarine, carrier and facility programs at Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS). The candidate will contribute to existing programs as well as develop new processes and systems engineering capabilities for future programs. Responsibilities Support the implementation of systems engineering on active NNS programs across the systems lifecycle including requirements development and management, verification and validation, and systems architecting. Support the development and refinement of systems engineering processes, frameworks, and best practices to be applied on future programs. Collaborate with discipline engineering teams, program management, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with customer needs. Drive the adoption and execution of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies across programs to enhance efficiency and decision making. Qualifications 0 Years with Bachelors in a related field. Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline. Required Skills Exceptional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams. Self-motivated and able to prioritize work to support project leads. U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance. Preferred Skills Exposure to implementing systems engineering principles, methods and lifecycle processes on naval, defense or aerospace programs. Familiarity with MBSE Tools (Cameo, Cradle, DOORS, etc.). Knowledge of digital engineering practices, data integration and model management processes.
