The Manager, Finance Operations is a key member of the Orion Finance Operations team, responsible for overseeing financial data, media-system processes, reconciliations, billings, and operational workflows that support the business. This role partners closely with Investment, Finance, Accounting, Master Data Management, and Shared Services teams across multiple media types, with primary support focused on National Linear and Digital operations.

The Manager will lead and improve the processes that govern client media schedules, billings, payables, receivables, reconciliations, and month-end close activities. This includes maintaining strong controls, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness, resolving operational issues, and providing visibility into aging, open invoices, trade balances, and other financial risks.

\n

\n

The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented financial operations professional with strong media-industry experience. They must be comfortable integrating data from multiple systems and sources; translating findings into clear reporting and recommendations; and managing cross-functional dependencies in a fast-paced environment. This role also provides guidance and development support to junior team members and reports to the Associate Director, Finance Operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day Finance Operations workflows, including the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and compliance of financial data entered and maintained in media systems.
\n
• Serve as a key liaison among Investment, Finance, Accounting, Shared Services, Master Data Management, and other business stakeholders.
\n
• Lead Finance Operations activities across an assigned agency, client, vendor, and/or centralized activity portfolio, which may include National Linear, Digital, Programmatic, Print, Out of Home, billing, vendor payments, reconciliations, aging, reporting, and data-integrity workflows.
\n
• Lead month-end close activities, including preparation, review, and submission of upload files for Mediaocean and related financial systems.
\n
• Manage and review reconciliations across media payables, prepaid media, accounts receivable, trade owed balances, billing activity, and other financial operational accounts.
\n
• Lead the preparation, review, and escalation of aged balances generated from the media system, including regular monthly aging reviews with business teams and Finance leadership.
\n
• Partner with Accounting to ensure media-system balances reconcile to the balance sheet and that discrepancies are researched, resolved, and appropriately documented.
\n
• Partner with Client Finance to manage intercompany workflows, transactions, and related reconciliation requirements.
\n
• Oversee vendor open-invoice statement maintenance, payment tracking, invoice reconciliation, discrepancy research, reversals, and issue resolution in partnership with Shared Services.
\n
• Manage and monitor Matchpay invoice approval workflows across relevant media types.
\n
• Oversee the timely and accurate execution of National affidavits, invoice gross-ups, invoice revisions, MBOX/live bill entries, and related billing and reconciliation activities; review exceptions, resolve escalations, and ensure appropriate controls and documentation are maintained.

• Create, maintain, and enhance Orion-specific trackers, reporting outputs, and templates using Excel, internal databases, and reporting tools.
\n
• Develop clear reporting on the completion, progression, risks, and outstanding items associated with operational and financial workflows.
\n
• Identify process gaps, control risks, missing information, or recurring data issues; establish solutions and escalate issues that may impact financial timelines, client billing, vendor payment, or business operations.
\n
• Drive process improvement initiatives that strengthen controls, improve workflow efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance visibility across interconnected operational processes.
\n
• Partner with Master Data Management teams to support vendor, client, product-code, and other master-data setup and maintenance needs.

• 6+ years of experience in Finance Operations, media finance, accounting operations, or a related field, including accounts receivable and accounts payable responsibilities.
\n
• Media-industry experience required; experience supporting media buying, billing, reconciliation, or stewardship workflows strongly preferred.
\n
• Experience with media buying and financial systems required; Mediaocean experience, including PRISMA and/or MBOX, is strongly preferred.
\n
• Experience managing complex reconciliations, aging, financial close processes, and cross-functional operational dependencies.
\n
• Experience managing relationships and issue resolution across cross-functional stakeholders, shared-service teams, agencies/clients, and/or media vendors.
\n
• Prior experience guiding, training, or overseeing junior staff is preferred.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, data analysis, and template development; proficiency with PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-reconciliation skills, with the ability to interpret information from multiple systems and sources.

• Demonstrated ability to identify operational risks, investigate discrepancies, implement process improvements, and drive issues through resolution.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to both operational and Finance leadership stakeholders.
\n
• Ability to translate complex operational and financial issues into clear action plans, ownership assignments, status updates, and escalation recommendations for varied stakeholder audiences.

• Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
\n
• Strong understanding of financial controls and the importance of compliance with SOX and company policies.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and navigate complex operational workflows.

The salary range for this position is posted below.
