About the Role

Oceanview United Methodist Church is seeking a relational, mission-focused Ministry Specialist to strengthen our small group ministry, lead weekly Bible studies, and help connect people into meaningful Christian community. This part-time role supports discipleship, leader development, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead 2–3 weekly Bible studies and small groups
• Recruit, train, and mentor lay leaders
• Develop new groups and support ongoing group growth
• Provide coaching and resources for group leaders
• Help connect people into Christian community
• Coordinate with pastoral staff to align groups with worship themes

Qualifications

• Experience in small groups, teaching, or discipleship
• Strong ability to teach Scripture and facilitate discussion
• Proven skill in recruiting and empowering volunteers
• Relational, organized, and self-motivated
• Familiarity with United Methodist theology (preferred)

Schedule & Compensation

• Schedule: Part-time: ~20 hours/week (occasional evenings/weekends)
• Compensation: Based on experience
