Job Details Specialty: ICU / Critical Care Float Employment Type: Travel Nurse Contract Setting: Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center, academic hospital environment Location: Madison, Wisconsin Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250 Shift Duration: 12-hour nights Typical Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 4x12s may be accommodated for the right traveler Hours Per Week: 36 Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: 10/12/2026 Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend, with some holidays Orientation: 20-28 hours Float Requirement: Yes, to multiple critical care and progressive care areas as needed Job Requirements Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license Minimum 5 years of RN experience preferred At least 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty Experience in multiple ICU settings strongly preferred, including neuro ICU, cardiothoracic ICU, burn ICU, trauma ICU, or medical/surgical ICU Level I Trauma Center experience required Travel nursing experience required Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA NIHSS and TNCC preferred or required per assignment clearance Epic charting experience required Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start Strong basic arrhythmia knowledge required Ability to float to other critical care and progressive care units as needed Must be comfortable working with adult and geriatric patient populations Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients Care for patients across a variety of ICU environments and acuity levels Manage complex interventions such as ventilator support, vasoactive drips, and telemetry monitoring Perform ongoing assessments, clinical monitoring, and rapid response to changing patient conditions Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support safe, effective patient care Float to units such as neuro ICU, CV/CT ICU, burn ICU, trauma ICU, MSICU, and IMC/progressive care as assigned Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic Demonstrate strong critical thinking, flexibility, and teamwork in a fast-paced critical care environment Support a culture of shared governance, learning, and excellence in patient care Apply now to join this ICU travel nurse assignment in Madison, Wisconsin and bring your critical care expertise to a top-tier healthcare team.
