Located in Quakertown, PA, we manufacture components to exacting tolerances for dimension, flatness, roundness, cylindricity, and other geometric requirements. Our customers rely on us for critical applications that demand extremely tight tolerances in these ultra-hard materials.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to serve as a key point of contact between our customers and our engineering and production teams. This role combines technical problem-solving with relationship-driven sales, guiding customers from initial inquiry through quoting, to order entry, and delivery. The ideal candidate is comfortable reading mechanical drawings, discussing material selection, and translating customer requirements into actionable production information.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers to understand project requirements and provide responsive support
• Offer design assistance and recommendations of appropriate materials based on application needs
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and prints
• Generate accurate, timely quotes for customer requests
• Enter and manage orders using Epicor Kinetic ERP to ensure quality and on-time delivery
• Manage multiple customer projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and deadlines to keep orders moving smoothly from quote to delivery
• Coordinate timelines and deliverables across customers, production, and engineering, proactively flagging risks or delays
• Collaborate closely with production and engineering teams to resolve technical questions and meet customer needs
• Support marketing initiatives, including advertising, trade shows, and exhibitions
• Contribute to the company’s website and social media presence
• Travel to customer sites and industry exhibitions as needed (travel expenses covered)

Qualifications

• B.S. in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred
• Strong interest in or knowledge of technical ceramics and other ultra-hard materials
• Motivated to build a career in technical/consultative sales
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings (GD&T experience is a plus)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Solid organizational and project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple orders and deadlines at once
• Experience with ERP systems (Epicor Kinetic experience is a plus, not required)
• Willingness to travel for customer visits and industry events
