Lecturer – CS 433: Operating Systems (Fall 2026) Position Overview The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at California State University San Marcos seeks a part‑time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach CS 433: Operating Systems. Course Details Semester : Fall 2026 Day/Time : Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 11:30 a.m.–12:20 p.m. Modality : In‑Person College : College of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics Department : Computer Science & Engineering Course Description : Operating system design and implementation, process coordination and scheduling, deadlocks, interface devices, memory and device management, networks and security, distributed and real‑time systems. Required Qualifications A master’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields. Employment in the State of California is required by the CSU Out‑of‑State Employment Policy. Preferred Qualifications A doctorate or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields. Experience teaching similar courses in 4‑year universities. Intercultural competence and a commitment to serving the campus community. Salary Salary commensurate with degree level and experience. Anticipated Hiring Salary Range : $5 507–$8 000 per full‑time month. CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A: $5 507–$6 677 per full‑time month. CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer B: $6 221–$13 224 per full‑time month.
