Position Details Position: Lecturer Semester: Fall 2026 Day/Time: Wednesdays, 5:30 p.m. – 8:20 p.m. Modality: In‑person College: College of Humanities, Arts, Behavioral & Social Sciences Department: American Indian Studies Course Description Explores the different articulations of environmental justice (EJ) for American Indian people compared to EJ for other communities. Situating settler colonialism as the origin of environmental injustice, genocide, and land dispossession as its constituent components are viewed as an ongoing process and structure that keeps American Indian and Alaskan Native people locked into struggles against extractive industries and a racist legal system as mechanisms of the capitalist settler state. Highlights Indigenous resistance and resiliency. Minimum Qualifications A master's degree or equivalent in American Indian Studies or a related discipline. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment, in accordance with the California State University’s Out‑of‑State Employment Policy. Preferred Qualifications Higher Education teaching experience. Demonstrated intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community, particularly in teaching and, as applicable, service. Salary Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 – $8,000 per full‑time month. CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A – AY: $5,507 – $6,677 per full‑time month.
