Job Description

Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Summary: Responsible for operating and maintaining various production machines to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing processes. This role involves monitoring equipment, performing quality checks, and ensuring products meet specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor production machines according to established procedures and safety standards.
• Perform regular quality checks on products to ensure they meet specified tolerances and quality requirements.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe work environment at all times.
• Make adjustments to machine settings and controls when necessary, depending on facility-specific processes and requirements, to maintain product quality and production flow.
• Conduct preventative maintenance (PM), total productive maintenance (TPM), and cleaning of equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
• Report any safety concerns, equipment malfunctions or production issues to the Production Supervisor or designate promptly.
• Document production data and maintain accurate records of machine output and performance.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and assist with troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process enhancements and equipment optimization via lean suggestions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Academic/Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; or equivalent expertise gained through professional experience, training, or certifications.
• Technical certification or training in machine operation is an asset.

Required Skills/Experience:

• 1-2 years of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, work orders, and blueprints is an asset.
• Mechanical aptitude with basic troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate quality checks.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
