Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a setting that champions best practices and exceptional customer service. This role emphasizes relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards aligned with the ANA Code of Ethics, Nursing Process, and regulatory guidelines. The position supports acute care departments including Medical, Surgery, Emergency, ICU, Childbirth, Pediatrics, Operating Room, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy/GI, and Cardiac Cath Lab.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term objectives.
• Engage in ongoing education to stay current with product and practice changes, promoting cost-effective care.
• Apply specialized knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care, making appropriate assignments based on acuity and expertise.
• Foster excellent relationships with patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
• Communicate proactively to manage expectations and ensure positive patient experiences through rounding, timely responses, and service recovery.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise, supporting healthcare students, and adhering to privacy and safety standards.
• Prioritize patient and workplace safety by reporting incidents, following Just Culture principles, HIPAA, and national safety standards.
• Demonstrate leadership and commitment to professional growth through certifications, advanced degrees, and participation in shared governance.
• Promote teamwork by motivating and mentoring colleagues, fostering cooperation, and building trust within the care team.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent with at least five years of acute care experience if non-accredited.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in advanced degree programs accepted.
• Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty credentials to be obtained and maintained as required.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.

This position offers part-time hours with a schedule of 48 hours biweekly, including weeknight shifts and every seventh weekend call. The role is based in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
