Job Details

Your job as Construction Accounting Assistant is to support the accounting team. The accounting team is responsible for all areas relating to daily financial activities and accounting processes. This position includes maintaining established accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial records and statements. Daily deadlines for a multitude of accounting activities are crucial.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times. Respond to all employees, vendors, and members in a courteous, efficient manner, owning each problem until it has been resolved.
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of project expenses
• Assist with job analysis and reporting
• Maintain an organized filing system for assignments and related correspondence to facilitate an efficient and productive working environment.
• Ability to organize a job from start to finish.
• Reviewing Construction Contracts from subcontractors, including W-9 information for tax purposes.
• Maintain and update insurance liability requirements for each subcontractor.
• Maintain files on all jobs; update records as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND CERTIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required; secondary education in with a degree in accounting is a plus.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 1-3 years of previous experience working in an office environment is required; must have advanced computer skills and competency in the following, Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. Experience with Sage is a plus. Must have strong communication and organization skills; must have a high attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment all while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

EXPERIENCE WORKING IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY, FAMILIAR WITH CONSTRUCTION PROCESSES IS A PLUS

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
