Software Engineer ManagerAt Regions, the Software Engineer Manager oversees application development for a large or complex department within the company. This role manages strategy development to ensure the application portfolio meets current business requirements and is operational, stable, reliable, and technically mature.Primary ResponsibilitiesManages all aspects of system design, development, deployment, acquisition, and ongoing maintenance for all application systems within areas of responsibilityServes as the primary technology contact for senior management from all areas of the organization in developing technology solutions that increase the efficiency of internal business functions, resolves business problems, and supports the pursuit of business opportunities for areas of responsibilityCreates and refines operational processes and systems to ensure effective regulatory and audit complianceApplies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutionsEvaluates customer and operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrates technical parameters, and ensures compatibility of all interfacesSupports the planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of requirements through management processesPartners across Technology, Operations, Digital, and Data (TODD) to ensure controls are designed, implemented, and monitored to strengthen risk management, compliance, and cyber security, effectively mitigating risk to levels within the company's risk appetiteEnsures disciplined change management by evaluating risk and control impacts when designing or implementing changes to processes, systems, products, and/or servicesThis position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.This position is incentive eligible.RequirementsBachelor's degree in a related fieldEight (8) years of relevant experience, of which two (2) years must be in a supervisory/managerial capacityPreferencesExperience in a Technology role in banking or a financial services industrySkills and CompetenciesAbility to manage multiple projectsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skillsStrong organizational skillsUnderstanding of and ability to interpret applicable rules, regulations, and industry guidanceAdditional Job RequirementsProven experience leading Software Engineering teams and/or Technical Product Owners within a large-scale enterprise technology environment.Strong background managing cross-functional teams operating in Agile or Scaled Agile (SAFe) frameworks, including participation in regular planning, prioritization, and delivery cycles.Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop technical professionals while aligning engineering execution with product and business objectives.Experience working within complex corporate IT organizations, preferably in financial services, banking, payments, or other highly regulated industries.Skilled in navigating large organizational structures, driving collaboration across stakeholders, and delivering technology solutions at enterprise scale.This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. This position must be within a reasonable driving distance to Birmingham, AL, Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA.Regions will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position at this time. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.Job Range Target:Minimum:$155,041.70 USDMedian:$216,060.00 USDIncentive Pay Plans:This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary incentive plan. Employees are eligible to receive a discretionary award based on individual, business, and/or company performance.
