Technical Writer

Job Summary:
The Technical Writer (TW3) role in Columbus, OH involves creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation for the modernization and re-write of a .NET application. The writer will collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, QA testers, and project leadership to ensure all documentation aligns with governance standards and supports business processes and system workflows.
Responsibilities:
The Technical Writer (TW3) role in Columbus, OH involves creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation for the modernization and re-write of a .NET application. The writer will collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, QA testers, and project leadership to ensure all documentation aligns with governance standards and supports business processes and system workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain architecture diagrams, API documentation, data dictionaries, entity relationship diagrams, and system configuration guides.
- Document current and future state workflows including intake processes, billing flows, automated jobs, and system interactions.
- Maintain documentation libraries and subscription lists to ensure accessibility and version control.
- Identify, create, revise, and maintain documentation and templates required by application teams.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain user documentation for multiple applications ensuring appropriate control and accuracy.
- Proven experience in technical writing, specifically for software development projects.
- Strong knowledge of .NET application architecture and software development lifecycle.
- Ability to create detailed technical diagrams and documentation such as API docs, data dictionaries, and workflows.
- Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with documentation governance standards and version control practices.
- Experience working in Agile or similar software development environments.
- Knowledge of business process documentation and system requirements gathering.
- Proficiency with documentation tools and diagramming software.
- Must adhere to DCY governance standards for documentation.
- Collaboration with multiple cross-functional teams is required.
- Regular daytime shift from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST.
- Position duration is 11+ months with the possibility of extension.
