Field Auto Appraiser – Job Description As a Field Auto Appraiser you will be at the forefront of Allstate’s claims process, meeting customers where they are and guiding them through repair or total loss decisions. Responsibilities Lead the claims process by meeting customers at homes, repair shops, or tow yards. Write estimates and guide customers through repair or total loss decisions using in‑person visits, virtual inspections, and written communication. Collaborate with body shops and service providers to obtain accurate, efficient service. Investigate and evaluate damage accurately, interpreting policies to determine coverage. Negotiate settlements with customers, vendors, third‑party carriers, and claimants. Maintain clear, timely records in the claims system. Use estimate tools, job aids, and settlement platforms effectively. Communicate with customers through phone, email, and video chat to facilitate a fast, fair process. Qualifications 3‑5 years of auto‑collision estimating experience using CCC or Mitchell. High School Diploma or GED. Proficient written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to produce precise, comprehensive estimates. Comfortable using technology and various claims‑processing platforms. Excellent time‑management and organizational skills. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel. Licensing Requirements Must obtain an adjuster’s license in multiple markets, including an appraiser’s license in RI, within 60 days of hire. Must maintain all required licenses and complete continuing education as mandated. Work Location Field‑based role located in Nassau County – Long Island, NY. This position may provide a company car after meeting mileage guidelines and offers mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use. Sign‑On Bonus $5,000 sign‑on bonus may be offered to qualified candidates who receive an employment offer. Eligibility, timing, and conditions will be outlined in the offer letter. A separate $1,000 sign‑on bonus may be offered to candidates with an active adjuster or appraiser license in TX, FL, or their resident state.
