Solar Planet: A company that provides solar field advisory and installation services Department: People Services Reports to: People Services Leader FLSA Status: Exempt Location: Columbus, Ohio Type: In-Office Position Summary We're looking for a detail-oriented and people-focused HR Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their HR career to gain broad, hands‑on exposure across four key HR functions: Associate Relations, Onboarding, Talent Acquisition, and Benefits. You'll be a key point of contact for employees and candidates, helping ensure a smooth, positive experience at every stage of the employee lifecycle. What You’ll Own (Core Responsibilities) Associate Relations Support the HR team in maintaining accurate employee records and case files Help coordinate employee engagement activities and initiatives Talent Acquisition / Onboarding Coordinate new hire onboarding logistics, including paperwork, system setup, and orientation scheduling Ensure new employees complete required documentation (I‑9s, tax forms, policy acknowledgments) accurately and on time Partner with IT, Facilities, and hiring managers to ensure new hires have what they need on day one Conduct or support new hire orientation sessions Assist employees with benefits enrollment questions during open enrollment and new hire periods Help process life event changes (marriage, birth, address changes, etc.) Maintain accurate benefits records and assist with compliance reporting General HR Support Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information Assist with HR audits, reporting, and special projects as needed Help keep HR policies, forms, and resources organized and up‑to‑date What Good Looks Like You’ll be successful in this role if you are: Detail-oriented: You catch small errors before they become big problems, especially with sensitive paperwork and data Strong communicator: You explain policies and processes clearly and warmly, whether to a nervous new hire or a tenured employee Discreet and trustworthy: You understand the importance of confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care Proactive problem‑solver: You notice gaps in a process and suggest improvements rather than waiting to be told Team player: You're comfortable supporting multiple HR functions and pitching in wherever needed Adaptable: You stay calm and flexible when priorities shift or deadlines move up What You Bring (Qualifications) Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) 0–1 years of HR experience; internships or relevant coursework are a plus Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace (Excel/Sheets in particular) Familiarity with HRIS or ATS platforms is a plus, but not required Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Interest in building a long‑term career in Human Resources Benefits Offered Generous paid time off Health insurance Healthcare spending account (HAS) Retirement benefits or accounts Gym memberships or discounts GOSH is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities in the application process and throughout employment, as required by applicable law.
