Job Description

This position is for a skilled and customer-focused Phlebotomist I to support a busy patient service center in Bartlesville, OK. You will perform a high volume of blood draws for patients of all ages, including pediatric patients, while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role suits someone who enjoys direct patient interaction, can manage multiple tasks efficiently, and takes pride in maintaining accurate and timely specimen collection.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections for patients of all ages, including pediatric patients.
• Collect approximately 40–60 blood and specimen samples per day while maintaining high accuracy and quality standards.
• Assist with specimen processing when needed to support overall workflow in the patient service center.
• Greet patients warmly and provide excellent customer service throughout their visit.
• Support front desk functions, including assisting patients with self-service kiosk check-in and general inquiries.
• Follow all clinical, safety, and infection control procedures during specimen collection and handling.
• Maintain organized work areas and ensure proper labeling, documentation, and handling of all specimens.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow and timely service.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, caregivers, and team members regarding procedures and expectations.

Essential Skills

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current phlebotomy certification.
• Demonstrated experience working with pediatric patients in a clinical or phlebotomy setting.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy, including venipuncture and capillary blood collection techniques.
• Ability to perform a high volume of blood draws, collecting approximately 40–60 specimens per day.
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient care and satisfaction.
• Effective verbal communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare staff.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per shift.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a high-volume patient service center.
• Experience with specimen processing and handling.
• Strong multitasking abilities to manage patient interactions, specimen collection, and administrative tasks simultaneously.
• Solid organizational skills to maintain accurate records and an orderly work area.

Work Environment

This is an onsite role in a busy patient service center located in Bartlesville, OK. You will work in a fast-paced clinical environment that requires frequent standing for up to 8 hours and continuous interaction with patients and staff. The setting involves regular use of phlebotomy equipment and supplies for venipuncture, capillary collection, and specimen processing. The work environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and adherence to clinical protocols while fostering a supportive and professional team atmosphere.

This is a Contract position based out of Tulsa, OK.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
