Sales Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY Dover Motion is seeking a customer‑obsessed Sales Engineer to join our team. The Sales Engineer’s primary responsibilities include qualifying all incoming customer leads and inquiries in a timely, professional and positive manner; promoting Dover Motion products and solutions through consultative value selling to determine optimal solutions; preparing quotes and proposals for customers based on incoming leads; and maintaining positive relationships with existing customers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Interpret customer requirements and assist customers in defining and selecting the appropriate Dover Motion product(s). Negotiate with customers on best pricing under direction of senior management. Document special pricing and custom engineering requests and follow up to ensure requests are completed and presented to customers in a timely fashion. Utilize HubSpot CRM, capturing all leads and customer information, and entering data accurately and promptly. Provide technical drawings or product specifications when needed. Manage assigned accounts for product direction/forecasting, profitability, growth, and attainment of sales objectives. Coordinate activities (custom requests, training, visits to and from customers) in partnership with Business Development, Engineering, and Operations as appropriate. Support Dover’s strategic marketing activities (webinars, tradeshows, white papers, etc.) when required via sales support, content creation, etc. Cold call prospective customers or open/lost/unresolved leads in HubSpot and follow up with customers from product CAD site download. Act as a backup in answering Dover incoming phone calls, sales order entry, and responding to customer issues/returns/requests through e‑mail and phone. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred; Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience required. 5+ years of technical sales in motion control or manufacturing industry. Proven experience supporting customers and/or application engineering needs. Experience in motion products/technology product company required.
