Job Description

The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for providing timely diagnostic services to both inpatient and outpatients under the direction of a Radiologist and departmental protocols. This role includes performing abdominal, pelvic (gynecological & obstetrical), and transvaginal sonograms. Proficiency is also required in scanning small parts (thyroid, breast & scrotum) and conducting ultrasound-guided biopsies, drainage, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and aspirations.

Responsibilities

• Perform abdominal, pelvic, (gynecological & obstetrical), and transvaginal sonograms.
• Conduct small parts scanning including thyroid, breast & scrotum.
• Execute ultrasound-guided biopsies, drainage, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and aspirations.
• Deliver services in accordance with departmental protocols and Radiologist direction.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have AART/RDMS certification.
• State License as a general radiographer and/or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
• Minimum of 2 years recent ultrasound technician experience.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Experience in General Ultrasound, OB, and Vascular required; US Echo Tech experience preferred.
