University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Department: College of Nursing Job Title: Women's Health Nurse-Practitioner / Clinical Instructor / Senior Clinical Instructor / Assistant Professor Clinical (Open Rank) in the Non-Tenure Clinical Practice Track Position Location: UCHealth Lone Tree Medical Center Position #: 00811619 – Requisition #: 38609 Job Summary The University of Colorado College of Nursing is seeking a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) / Clinical Instructor / Senior Clinical Instructor / Assistant Professor Clinical (Open Rank) in the Non-Tenure Clinical Practice Track for a 0.75 FTE position with our CU College of Nursing Women's Health Faculty Practice at UCHealth Lone Tree Medical Center. This full‑scope position includes antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, well‑woman and gynecological care. It is a clinician‑based role and includes an instructor‑level, non‑tenure clinical practice track appointment in the College of Nursing. For more information, visit Faculty Practice Description The CU Center for Midwifery at Lone Tree is a private practice model that works collaboratively with the OB/GYN physicians on staff. We offer patients and families many services including individualized care, alternative labor/birth options, with referrals to childbirth education, lactation services, and provider groups within the system and community. The practice provides full‑scope midwifery care to patients at the UCHealth Lone Tree Health Center and UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital. The CNM will be part of a midwifery service that has a long and successful history within the University of Colorado system. The practice actively participates in practice development, practice promotion and interdisciplinary committees within the UCHealth system. The CU Center for Midwifery at Lone Tree currently consists of four Certified Nurse‑Midwives. Examples of Work Performed Provide full‑scope care to patients across the lifespan including procedures driven by individual experience. Provide care in the outpatient clinic setting. Attend monthly practice meetings and participate in a minimum of one practice and/or College of Nursing committee. Educate health care team students (APNs, medical students, residents) and actively participate in student evaluations. Participate in practice development, promotion, and community outreach. Active participation in health plan contracts. Remain credentialed by the health plans and ensure credentialing materials stay current. Perform other duties as assigned. Conditions of Employment Must be willing and able to provide full‑scope contraceptive services and counseling on abortion services. Must be willing and able to obtain Colorado RN, APN, RxN licenses prior to date of hire. Must be willing and able to obtain current DEA license within 18 months of hire. Must be willing and able to obtain valid NPI number prior to date of hire. Must be willing and able to obtain valid Colorado Medicaid provider number prior to date of hire. Must be willing and able to complete CAQH and all credentialing requirements prior to date of hire. Must be willing and able to obtain current BLS/CPR certification by date of hire. Must be willing and able to actively participate in health plan contracts. Must be willing and able to remain credentialed by the health plans and ensure credentialing materials stay current. Must be willing and able to work in a normal patient care environment with some exposure to biological hazards and infectious diseases. Preferred Qualifications Current, active DEA licensure. Advanced practice precepting experience. Experience with gynecologic procedures (e.g., colposcopy). Competencies Exceptional independent judgment to monitor and respond to changes in a client’s condition. Interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and other members of the health care team. Skilled in the use of the electronic medical health record. Excellent knowledge of and ability to perform clinical teaching. Ability to effectively develop and promote practice. Strong collaborative nature. Willingness and ability to actively participate in health plan contracts. Ability to remain credentialed by the health plans and ensure credentialing materials stay current. Experience precepting advanced practice students.
