Mancan Staffing is now hiring in **Donora, PA** for an experienced **Manual Lathe Operator**! This is a **temp-to-perm opportunity** with the potential for long-term employment and advancement for the right candidate.

Position Overview

The Manual Lathe Operator will be responsible for operating manual lathes to produce precision-machined components according to customer specifications, work orders, blueprints, and inspection requirements. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, quality workmanship, and following established safety procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Safely operate **manual lathes** to complete machining operations.
* Work accurately within **tight tolerances of .0005**.
* Read and properly use **micrometers** and other precision measuring equipment.
* Work with both **metric and standard (ASE) measurement systems**, including performing necessary conversions.
* Read and interpret **mechanical blueprints, technical documents, manuals, inspection reports, and work orders**.
* Review work order specifications and determine the appropriate machining process.
* Inspect finished work to ensure parts meet required specifications and quality standards.
* Follow established **quality control processes** and manufacturing procedures.
* Safely operate **overhead cranes** and follow all material-handling and workplace safety procedures.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
* Identify potential issues with measurements, materials, or machining processes and use sound problem-solving skills to address them.
* Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding job specifications, measurements, testing, and production concerns.
* Remain on your feet for extended periods while performing machining and production duties.

Qualifications & Skills

* Previous **manual lathe or machining experience** preferred.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
* Comfortable working with **precision measurements and tight tolerances**.
* Ability to accurately read and understand **micrometers**.
* Ability to read and interpret **blueprints and inspection reports**.
* Basic mathematical skills with the ability to perform measurement conversions.
* Understanding of both **metric and standard measurement systems**.
* Basic knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures.
* Familiarity with quality control practices and material-handling techniques.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to safely work around and operate manufacturing equipment.
* Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods.

Pay: $25.00$30.00/hr., based on experience
Location: Donora, PA
Shifts: 1st 7:00 AM3:00 PM | 2nd 3:00 PM11:00 PM | 3rd 11:00 PM7:00 AM
Schedule: Potential for rotating shifts after training
Employment: Temp-to-perm
