Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience as a school-based paraprofessional or in a student support role
- Working knowledge of basic sign language (not required to be a certified interpreter)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, specialists, and support staff
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable in supporting diverse student needs
- Commitment to creating a positive and nurturing school atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers with classroom activities, instructional tasks, and behavior management
- Support students with special needs individually or in small groups, utilizing basic sign language as needed
- Foster a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive environment for all learners
- Help implement teachers’ lesson plans, modifying materials for student understanding
- Maintain records and progress reports under direction of lead educators
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
