Interim Senior Accountant – Manufacturing
A well-established manufacturing company in Bergen County is seeking an experienced Interim Senior Accountant to support the accounting team during a transitional period. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can quickly step in to manage key accounting functions with minimal oversight.
Compensation: $40–$55/hour (depending on experience) Duration: Interim / Contract (with potential for extension)
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
- Manage general ledger activity, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Lead and support month-end and year-end close processes
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions
- Assist with inventory accounting and cost analysis within a manufacturing environment
- Coordinate with external auditors and support audit requests
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement efficiencies
- Support ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with inventory, cost accounting, or standard costing is a plus
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
