Finance, Risk & Compliance - Accounting ManagerLocation: Menlo Park, CASummary: Seeking a skilled, self-starting Accounting Manager to join our Corporate Accounting team. This role requires full ownership, limited direction, and a strong accounting background coupled with business acumen. Responsibilities include problem-solving, project management, designing scalable accounting technologies, and exercising good business judgment. Strong communication and partnership skills are essential for facilitating information flow across the organization.Job Responsibilities:Partner with product teams on the launch of new products, including review of contracts, the performance of timely accounting assessments, risk assessments, designing effective & efficient controls to mitigate risks, and ensuring finance requirements are delivered by product and engineering teams to support successful product launches.Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal team members and cross-functional teams globally, including legal, product, engineering, tax, and risk teams.Facilitate communication and information flow between cross-functional business partners and the Finance organization.Review end-to-end system flows used for accounting and financial reporting for risk assessment, partnering with engineering and product teams to implement process and control improvements.Drive the implementation of new accounting policies, and updates to existing policies that ensure compliance with GAAP and alignment with business strategy and related accounting guidance.Carry out month-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and analytical reviews to ensure an accurate and timely, monthly, quarterly and year-end close.Design and implement scalable accounting processes related to month-end and quarter-end financial close.Skills:Knowledge of general accounting or auditing principles (emphasis of ASC 606)Knowledge and experience with internal controlsAdvanced ability to understand system processesA strong business acumen, partnership experience, and communication skillsSkilled in comprehending end-to-end systems that impact accounting & financial reporting processesExperience with financial statements and financial analysisExperience leveraging AI to support day to day tasks and improve efficiencyExceptional knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft toolsExperience executing and delivering high quality, accurate work in a dynamic, fast paced and deadline driven environmentAbility to work independently as a significant individual contributor with minimal guidanceVerbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinkingEducation/Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related fields CPA preferred 10+ years of accounting experience Experience in ASC 606
