Role Description The Accounting Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Redwood City, CA. This role oversees day‑to‑day accounting operations, including preparation and review of financial statements, general ledger maintenance, and month‑end and year‑end close processes. Responsibilities include posting and approving journal entries, managing fixed asset records and depreciation schedules, monitoring cash flows, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities. The Accounting Manager will ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, coordinate with external auditors, and prepare documentation for audits and regulatory filings. This individual will collaborate with finance and operational teams to provide analytical insights, support management reporting, and contribute to the development of efficient accounting processes and systems. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Financial Statements and Finance, including preparing, analyzing, and interpreting key reports. Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to support variance analysis, forecasting, and decision‑making. Candidates should possess solid experience with Journal Entries (Accounting) and general ledger processes. Candidates should possess proficiency in managing Fixed Assets, including capitalization policies and depreciation. Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or similar certification is preferred. Experience as an accounting supervisor or manager, ideally within biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or a related industry, is beneficial. Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit readiness, along with proficiency in accounting software and Excel, is desirable. Demonstrated ability to work on‑site, collaborate across teams, communicate clearly, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment is expected.
