Sr. Product Design EngineerOne of Apple's R&D groups is currently seeking a senior product design engineer. This engineer will be responsible for mechanical design of mechanisms and mechatronic systems from concept generation through physical implementation and validation. We are ready to help you help us grow.DescriptionIn this role you will partner with cross-functional teams such as electrical, controls, and embedded FW engineers to realize mechatronic system designs. Responsibilities include: Mechanical design (3D and 2D drawings) Mechanism design and integration Electrical component integration (sensors, electronics, wiring, and harnesses) Prototype, evaluate, develop, and harden designs Close collaboration with cross-functional teamsMinimum QualificationsBS in mechanical engineering or similar field5+ years of hands-on, mechanism and mechatronic product design experienceExperience selecting and integrating electronics, sensors, and mechanisms in challenging packaging environmentsStrong mechanical engineering analytical skillsExperience selecting materials and manufacturing processes based on engineering requirementsExperience working in technical project groups in a professional environmentProficiency in 3D CAD and creating 2D drawingsExcellent communication skills (verbal and written) including emails, preparing slide presentations, and presenting technical concepts to multi-disciplinary teamsDetail orientated and capable of handling multiple assignments at oncePreferred QualificationsMS or PhD in mechanical engineering or similar fieldFluent in Siemens NX including surfacing toolsExperience working through entire product cycle including shipping product experienceExperience leading teams through product development cycle from concept development to production bring upPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $184,700 and $324,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
