Plumbing Journeyman

Plumbing JourneymanSouthern Mechanical is looking for a skilled and dependable Plumbing Journeyman to join our team. This position is ideal for an experienced plumber who takes pride in their work, works well independently and with a team, and understands the unique demands of multi-family construction and service.As a Plumbing Journeyman, you will be responsible for performing plumbing installations, repairs, maintenance, and service work for multi-family and commercial customers.Key responsibilities include:Perform plumbing installations, repairs, maintenance, and service callsDiagnose plumbing issues and determine appropriate repair solutionsInstall, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, piping, and related equipmentRead and interpret plumbing plans, drawings, and specificationsEnsure all work is completed accurately, safely, and in accordance with applicable codes and standardsCommunicate professionally with customers and explain plumbing issues and recommended solutions in easy-to-understand termsBuild positive customer relationships and identify appropriate products and services based on customer needsWork closely with customer service representatives, dispatchers, and other team members to ensure a positive customer experienceTrain and mentor plumbing helpers and less-experienced team membersMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work areaMaintain an organized and properly stocked company vehicleComplete service documentation, paperwork, and job records accurately and on timeFollow all company safety policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assignedWhat we're looking for:Strong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to explain technical information to customers in simple termsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsDetail-oriented and organizedDependable, punctual, and self-motivatedPositive, team-oriented attitudeStrong commitment to quality workmanshipSafety-first mindsetAbility to adapt to changing job-site conditions and prioritiesProfessional appearance and customer-service mindsetAbility to work independently while also contributing to a teamQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent preferred3–5+ years of plumbing experience preferredJourneyman plumbing experience requiredValid driver's license and good driving recordEPA certification preferred/ required as applicable to the positionOSHA 10 certification preferredExperience with multi-family plumbing construction or service is a plusWorking with our company:Founded in 1992, Southern Mechanical is an operated company headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee.
