Job Title: RN Neuro PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: EPIC charting experience Description: The position requires an RN with experience in Neuro PCU. The shift hours are 3x12s, from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM. Weekend requirements may include every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block. All requests for time off must be included with the submission. The facility can accommodate block scheduling. The policy allows for one shift to be called off every two weeks. The RN must work one holiday during the 13-week contract. First-time travelers are accepted. Local candidates are considered based on a specified radius. Pending licenses are accepted only under certain conditions. Required clinical skills include: Cardiac monitoring and emergency response. IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and line care. Medication administration and management of cardiac drips without titration. Respiratory support and isolation precautions. The patient population consists of adults with neurological conditions. Care includes neurosurgical recovery and stroke management. The RN will float to units within their clinical skill set. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 or 1:5. The facility is a teaching hospital with advanced specialty care. It is designated as a Level I Trauma Center and recognized for nursing excellence. Comprehensive stroke care is provided, including neurointerventional coverage.
